April Visit to the East

In April, Rebecca and I (Becky) were blessed with the opportunity to spend 2 1/2 days in NY with my parents.  The trip was short but the hours were sweet.
Our time was spent helping my parents with different projects, talking, and playing games.
Rebecca enjoyed helping her Grandma clean some fresh strawberries that were shipped in from South Carolina.
Cooking for 4 was fun!!  Cooking projects were making extra meatballs for the freezer,  cooking a large batch of soup, and preparing roast beef for the freezer. I also cleaned windows, floors, and the bathroom of their small home.

One morning my parents, 2 sisters, a collection of nieces & nephews, Rebecca, and I went to the coffee shoppe where my niece works.

While were ordering, I had the lovely surprise of having another sister, who lives 4 hours away, join us for our tea and coffee.  My family of 6 sisters, 2 brothers, in-laws, nieces, and nephews is a treasure!

There is something special about cousins!!

During out stay, Rebecca and her grandfather played at least 4 games of Parcheesi, usually with Grandma and/or some cousins & I joining in.

A fourth sister came over for supper after work.

My mother loves to read the Bible.  It has guided her thoughts, actions, and words for most of her 85 years.  When I grow old, I want to be just like her.

My parents still enjoy gardening.  Early this spring, they planted lettuce and green onions in their hotbed.  The crisp, fresh lettuce was a delicious treat!

“For Thou, O God, hast heard my vows:
Thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear Thy name.”
Psalm 61:8
