Bible Bee Study Fall 2016

Amongst other things, Bible Bee study + prep was the main part of our fall. The five participants spent hundreds of hours studying + memorizing. The rest of us took turns when we were available to listen to their verses and coach them. We are also SO grateful to the handful of friends who faithfully helped out by coaching them with their verses via Skype and FaceTime.

Allison was able to listen to a few stacks right at the beginning of the “crazy recitation season”, before she left for Mexico the beginning of October.

We drafted in all sorts of friends, company, you name it…=) Anyone with two ears and who was available!

 FaceTime recitations!

Apparently wrapping in blankets helps the recitation process to go better?? =)

See that random foot up there? Yes, there is someone reciting from that tree. =)

Our five contestants (Denver, Taylor, Liz, Hudson, + Rebecca) wish to give a huge + very heartfelt thanks to all of the friends + family who helped them by listening to their hundreds of verses over the fall. Whether you were the friend who popped in and listened to one stack here or one stack there, or a friend who listened on a regular basis…thank you.
Your investment in their lives + your participation in helping them hide the WORD in their hearts, is greatly appreciated!

“Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.
The entrance of Thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for Thy commandments.
Look Thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as Thou uses to do unto those that love Thy name. Order my steps in Thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep Thy precepts.
Make Thy face to shine upon Thy servant; and teach my Thy statutes.”
Psalm 119:129-135

  1. This post had me smiling the whole time. The pictures really capture the intensity and dedication that the youngsters are memorizing their scriptures with! I was thinking the blanket-wrapping must be kind of like a must have when they're recite and then you made a comment about it underneath one of the photos 🙂 Hey, if it helps to recite out of a tree, then go recite out of a tree! haha
