LACP Dinner & Pie Fundraiser

Somehow we managed to get way behind in our posting in December. So for the next couple days I will be publishing posts from the past month and a half.
In November, our family prepared a dinner again(like last year) as a fundraiser for the Live Animal Christmas Play. (pictures from the play coming next!)
People from our church pitched in with last minute prep Sunday morning (above) It was once again a great success and so much fun to work together preparing this meal with our whole family!
Here is Liz, cutting cheese for the salad.
The bread crew, cutting and buttering 300ish dinner rolls, made by yours truly.
A little broccoli, anyone?!
Somehow Mitchell managed to get out of kitchen duty and onto baby duty instead. Not sure how he managed that. =)
The finished product! A Baked Potato Bar with potatoes, chili, cheese sauce, & broccoli,
and salad and dinner rolls.
Dessert time!
Good food makes for happy men!!
Then Sunday night after the evening service, we had a pie auction fundraiser with pies made by the ladies from our church.

The auction crew was hilarious and there was much mirth and laughter as jokes flew back and forth with the bidding.

Denver delivered pies to various buyers.
There were eighty pies sold, for a grand total of $6,870.00!
Allison’s Triple Chocolate Cream Pie was the top selling pie, going for $420.00!! The buyer was a very happy young man. =) Anyone want to guess who this mystery guy might be?!
“Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”

  2. There's nothing quite like working together with brothers + sisters-in-Christ on projects like this! Looks like an awesome time of fellowship and adore the joy captured in that second-to-last picture. 🙂 The baked potato bar is a fantastic idea and the dessert table looks completely dreamy, wow. <3 I'm definitely not surprised that Alli's pie ended up as the top-seller – yumminess defined. 🙂 Hmm, guessing that it's one of the brothers – Carson, Josh, or Denver?? All right, have a blessed weekend!

  3. It's wonderful seeing your family cooking and working together. Have you ever considered making a section on your blog for your recipes? I'd love to see that!

  4. I know I already commented once on this post…since there have been several other guesses on the "mystery guy", I thought I'd add mine. I'm guessing it's Carson??

    Blessings:)

  6. Luke 14:12-14 – Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Proverbs 22:16 – He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.

  7. Hi Chelsey and Allison – I know you're travelling now but perhaps if you have a moment to answer before the end of month, that would be wonderful! I have had it on my heart to host a Valentine Brunch for the widows in our church. I know I've seen you do this in the past. I wondered if you could help me with some ideas about how you arrange the meal and a bit more about the details of the day? I'm working on making it very special and just looking for as many ideas as I can gather over the month of Jan. You two do such a lovely job of decorating!

  8. I'm guessing that it's one of your brothers who won the pie?:)

What a fun time serving you must have had!!! It truly brings the most priceless joy when you serve the Lord!

    All for Christ,
    Morgan Roth

  9. To everyone…the mystery buyer was indeed brother Carson!! Although there were also other single guys bidding on her pies who were NOT brothers. =)

to anonymous…we have considered doing more recipes. At this point we simply don't have time. But maybe someday!

Sheri-if you would just drop me an email with your specific questions I would be happy to help in anyway I can! in**@bo********************.com

Blessings to all-thanks for your comments!

  10. Serving together with your church to achieve a common goal is just so wonderful. Everything looks scrumptious! 🙂 I hope you are all doing well on your tour…. Praying that your music will impact others for Him!
    Walking w/ Him,
