While covering the Alaskan highway, we stopped a few places for various things. To be honest, there aren’t very many places to stop! But one is the little town of Watson Lake.
Here, we visited the Visitors Center again, to watch the video of how the Alaskan highway was made. We had watched it four years ago and found it super fascinating. Also (above) we enjoyed seeing the rows upon rows of signs people leave from literally all over the world.
We also stopped by the home of a complete stranger! One of our friends in British Columbia told us we “had to stop and see this lady”. So while at the visitors center we asked about her and where she lived and stop by we did! It would seem that only on the Alaskan highway is this “drop in on a total stranger” thing acceptable. =) We had a great little twenty minute visit with her and her husband-they own one of the largest hunting outfitter productions up there and they had many stories and all sorts of animals around the house!
We also stopped the one night just to get out and stretch a little bit. Josh and Taylor took camp chairs and sat beside the creek to read + chat….
while Dad, Allison, Liz, and Hudson went on a run along the highway….
…and that left mom, Rebecca, Denver, and yours truly doing various workouts along the road. =)
Rebecca keeps us laughing-she is forever trying to keep up with the older ones and so she does her own little sets of pushups, squats, planks, etc right along with the rest. =)
