Making donuts is a fun fall tradition of ours and we look forward to biting into the delicious donuts when donut day arrives!  Maybe try making them at your house someday-they are a very fun family project and the yumminess is rewarding!

Yummy breakfast of donuts, homeade sausages, and scrambled eggs!

Here’s our favorite recipe! Comment below when you make them-we’d love to hear how they turned out!

2 cups milk

1 cup sugar or 1/2 cup honey

3/4 cup butter

2tsp salt

1 Tablespoon yeast

1 C. warm water

3 eggs

10-11 cups flour (we often use half whole wheat and half unbleached white flour)

Scald milk. Stir in sugar, butter and salt; set aside to cool. Dissolve yeast in the warm water; set aside. Beat eggs. When the milk mixture is luke-warm, mix in the eggs and yeast mixture. Stir in just enough flour to make a soft dough. Let dough rise until double in size. Roll out and cut into doughnuts. Let rise again until light. Fry in 365 degrees (we use coconut oil).  Sugar or glaze as desired. Makes 65 delicious doughnuts!!!

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.”

Psalm 34:8
