Our church had a “Watch Night Service” on New Year’s Eve.  It was a wonderful time of encouragement and fellowship, beginning with a service where 8 young men preached, then a meal, and ending with fun and fellowship at a local gym.
Here are photos/recaps of my brothers’ sermons that evening.
“Evangelism”
Using the example of Esther (Esther 4:10-5:2), Mitchell gave us a stirring call to evangelism.  I believe all Christians need to be reminded of the call we have to share the precious news of the Gospel.  Mitchell has such a heart of love for others, and it is a privilege to learn from him on this topic.
“Having good conversation”
Carson is one of the best conversationalists I know.  But that is for a reason; he is passionate about honoring Christ with his words.  He based his sermon off I Timothy 4:12, and is was such a great reminder to seek to edify others and honor Jesus Christ in our conversation.
“Living up to God’s blessings”
Denver reminded us of all God’s blessings to us and gave practical admonitions on how we should live in light of those blessings.  (Ephesians chapters 1, 2, and 3)  If we have been blessed by the Lord, we should be grateful and seek to glorify Him.  I love how Denver lives this out in everyday life; he is one of the most grateful people I know, and he has such a heart to honor Jesus with his life.
“Reason’s for Rejoicing”
Josh encouraged all of us with his message on joy.  He challenged us that, as Christians, Christ has given us so many reasons for rejoicing, and we should be the most joyful people in the world.  Philipians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice.”
