December Days

Here at the Bontrager house, our lives have been busy with school, cooking, chores, and birthday parties.
One of the parties was a surprise weekend party, and one of the cooking adventures was a huge disaster. (more on those events to come later!)
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

  1. Thanks for making me hungry so late at night. LOL.

Good to see such a loving family and pictures like these prove you don't have to be "away from home" to be having a good time..even when your doing school work it's not that bad.

  2. Did a great job on the birthday cakes! I like the post. Good pictures. The last photo is especially sweet!

    Merry Christmas! Rebecca K.

  3. Love all your photos! Is Elizabeth eight already?

Merry Christmas! (Can't believe Christmas is only a few days away!)

  4. I enjoyed reading the post! Happy Birthday to your brother and sister!

Although, I don't comment much, I do enjoy reading your family blog =) Also, I enjoyed seeing part of your family at the National Bible Bee in November!

    Blessings,
    Bethany P.

  5. 'Looks delightfully "Christmassy!" I do have a question- I have noticed that several of you play fiddle beautifully, and that the violins you use have a wonderful voice. Could you suggest a good violin for someone who would like to pick violin up? Beautiful pictures! By the way, Happy birthday Elizabeth and Denver!

  6. This is for the question about the violins that our children play: We are incredibly blessed to have "Reck Violin", which is a family owned violin store, just 30 minutes from our house. Mr. Reck buys & sells violins, violas, and cellos in addition to repairing the same instruments. We buy good quality student violins from him then trade them in on the next size as our children grow. Allison has an "Andreas Eastman" full size violin.
You may want to check out the yellow pages for your area or ask other violinist for recommendations. We have found a local business is great for quick repairs and for finding quality instruments at a reasonable price.

  7. Wow, I miss daily life at your place! I miss you all very much, and hope I will be able to see you again sometime here on earth! 🙂 I'm comforted that we'll FOR SURE see each other someday in Heaven, though! 😀

  8. Thank you so much for the violin recommendations! I actually received a violin for Christmas, so that "takes care" of that "problem!" Thanks again!
